Love Zac Brown Band, apparently just not in person
INOHA's music thrilled me, and I was excited to hear they were coming to Maine. We bought seats for $75 each at Darlings Waterfront Pavilion and found ourselves just two rows back from the VIP section. Unfortunately, the folding chairs were uncomfortably narrow. Despite weighing only 170 lbs, I was constantly bumping shoulders with my neighbor. I even had to stand sideways to the stage to make myself fit when we stood up!
The first hour of the show was underwhelming, with INOHA performing only five songs, two of which were covers. The guitar solo lasted close to 30 minutes, which I found boring. They performed a couple of songs, then spent 15 minutes handing out t-shirts to the pit crowd. Following the intermission, they played Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody, which was my breaking point. After being at the concert for 90 minutes, I had only heard four or five INOHA songs. They covered songs from the Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen, Metallica, and another band I can't recall. It was disappointing to hear them perform covers instead of their own music.
Despite my disappointment, I will remain an INOHA fan, but I won't attend their concerts in the future. If I ever return to Darling Waterfront Pavilion, I won't bother purchasing tickets. We could hear the music clearly from the park across the street when we left early, confirming that there was no need to stay for the entire show.
